Miss Marple, It is beginning to sound that way to me---went the way of the bloody fingerprint. At least with the blood splatter we KNOW it existed because of the photos.
From the photos, it is obvious that it is dried. Laying a blanket over it would not wreck it. And I doubt you could wash the back and not the arm when the body is sprayed down in a body tray.
