The bottom line with me is that the liver temp is a common way of giving at least a time line for the murders. And because of all the stated reasons and the ones you gave, and that they deliberately waited 10 hours--when a liver temp while the blood was still draining would have been best--shows me that they went out of their way to disguise this.
And the beginning temp (esp. of a woman in her 30's still having cycles) is not known--it is stranger still for them to have the same body temp.
Of course it can't be known exactly--but it is a Standard way of determining a range of time of death--and even this was thrown away by the cops in this case and deliberately made a non-issue.
