Jasper, I am not sure where MAG was when she said she saw the 4 guys run away but I think she was walking. Also, it could be that a car pulled up to the front to check things out and then they ran back to the car which she described as looking like an undercover car.
And for what it is worth, if it was that early after the murders, the blood had not flowed down the pathway yet. They could have done what Riske did and walked up to the area in the grass.
I believe she just said running away from the front of Nicole's condo. I think all of this is in Cochran's opening statement--I have that on tape and can check it out. I want to do that anyway due to the phone call he says that Ron got from the Scott girl that night. I want to see what he says about it.
I got to thinking about Jill's story when we were discussing the fact that Pellicano and Weitzman and covering for the studios came up.
I thought who better than to have an OJ lookalike than a studio --or people connected with a studio.
The point was for someone to believe that they saw OJ. I have seen numerous little tests done on tv to show how bad an eye witness can be. And you see what you Expect to see. All of this was very quick and the vehicle turning up to where OJ lived also could have helped plant that into her mind.
I have seen many celebs in my life and I have also seen people that I at first think they are celebs (or even someone I know) but on closer looks (sometimes of several minutes) I can determine that they are not. However, if you only get a quick look, with a similiar voice, going in the right direction on a night he is accused of killing his wife---you would swear that it was him.
We have discounted several stories by people who gave testimony. The burglar for instance. Just because he was a burglar doesn't mean he didn't see what he saw.
Also about MAG, she always claimed she did not check out and then check back in to the motel and run up a $20,000 bill. And her lawyer said that he had never ever been on a case where the DA's made NO attempt to recover any of the money---they were only interested in getting the person in jail.
I personally know someone who stole from the grocery store (office) where they worked and it was more than $20,000. They never went to jail and all the effort was made in recovering as much of the money as they could.
Now, remember--this is a credit card debt. Not stealing from the case drawer. It makes NO sense that they didn't go after as much of the money as they could. And it makes NO sense that a motel would let that kind of bill run up without running the credit card thru and checking out the credit. It always smelled to me.
Dick, before his death, had come around to thinking that perhaps the large white vehicle was some kind of surveillance vehicle that stopped briefly to talk to Nicole and then went and parked down the street...or around the corner.
Perhaps that is why both sides stayed as far away from it as they could possibly stay. And why Hodgeman kept the info to himself in a drawer.
