I found and watched part of the Cochran Opening Statement last night.

He tells about MAG by starting to tell how she went to the cops first and they wouldn't talk to her, then she went to the DA's and was told that they have the case "wrapped up" so they didn't want to talk to her, and finally she came to the defense. (BTW, this is not actively I would normally attribute to someone hiding out and expecting to be arrested for fraud.)

Cochran said MAG was looking for property to rent or lease (residential) in the area so after attending Sunday night Mass, she goes to Bundy and parks (approx 1030) and starts walking down the street. At 1045, she is on the opposite side of the street from Nicole's condo. He did not say which direction she was going (N or S) but whichever it was, it appears she was approaching the condo. He said 4 men ran from the direction of the condo about 1045 and came w/in 10 feet of her. Three wore knit hats, 2 were Hispanic looking, and the second two were carrying something in their hands. She said they got into a car that appeared to be an undercover vehicle. He didn't say anything about the car driving away--perhaps it didn't. Perhaps, he just didn't say.

I thought about this before I posted. I thought of the area that (curve) that Jasper says makes a good location to spy on the condo. I thought of how the skate boarders saw people lurking in the bushes around 930 as if they were attempting to get a closer look at the front of the condo.

Now it is dark at 1045 in JUne in CA and she may have gone on past the condo. Cochran just didn't say, but I am sure that while interviewing her they got much more detail --like clothing, direction, what the vehicle looked like, etc.

About the knit caps. Cochran made it plaint that OJ in the knit cap is just OJ in a knit cap but to folks whose face is not well known--it does provide somewhat of a cover for what they look like. It covers their hair and hair color, their ears, and gives a distorted look to their facial features. A quick look---and the knit cap is what people remember--not what they actually look like.

Perhaps there is a larger description somewhere of what she saw (perhaps in a hearing) but that is all that Cochran said in the Opening Statements.
