Watched to the end of the tape--where they broke for the day. Don't know if I have the rest of it on another tape.
About Hodgeman. Even if he hadn't had an anxiety attack--I think he would have been taken off the case. And perhaps that is what happened anyway.
His complaints were beyond belief. He kept complaining on and on after Ito told him it was over. He wouldn't sit down. He was demanding it to be "fair" as Clark did later.
I think Ito knew something was wrong early in the day as he kept telling Hodgeman to take a deep breath and calm down.
I think it was decided early that Hodgeman wasn't up to the job. The stress would be too much. The sheer volume of discovery would be too much for him.
I personally think what happened was that Hodgeman was very UNUSED to having a defendant actually put on a big case against the DA's case. I think he was used to walking in, putting on the case, and the defense sit there dumbstruck or not having the money to counter the case.
Also noticed that a statement by Rachel Berman was turned over to the DA's by Carl Douglas which he said that she said she went to Ben and Jerry's with Nicole and was at the Mezzaluna with Sydney for dinner.
Now, there has to be something wrong here. Even the Browns did not say that Rachel was there. NObody at the Mezz said she was there.
I can't imagine why this little girl was hidden in the case--but she was.
And nothing was said at this time about her going back to condo for the night or that she left with her Dad.
Oh, and Hodgeman wanted the judge to Disallow the knife in the envelope to be used in the trial. He wanted the knife found (that 2 search warrants didn't find) surpressed from the trial.
He acted like and actually made noises that the defense have sanctions that would suppress ALL the info that Cochran spoke of in the opening statements. He was way way over the edge by the beginning of the trial.
