If those gloves had been worn on the ski trip, either by OJ or Jason, they would have gotten wet and shrunk. If they where Jason's or OJ had given them to Jason, then he might have worn them till they where worn out as the gloves where.
Then they were put in the ski closet, along with the hat.
Then an easy matter for someone to have stolen them and a folded cap, may have been mistaken for a ski mask. The person stealing them may not have known that Jason and Nicole's ski clothes where also in the closet and thought they would fit OJ. The shoes where also something that someone may have worn around the fire in a ski lodge and also gotten put away with the ski things.
OJ was then stuck. He either did not remember that he had had them a few years back or did not want to, in any way incriminate Jason.
I think all those pieces fit together if we assume that they where taken out of the ski closet and where various clothes that belonged to someone in the family.
How many times in any family does someone open a present that does not fit and it fits another person and is taken by them.
I don't think OJ ever wore the shoes, but Jason may have worn them once or so on ski trips.
Fuhrman or someone may have known that Nicole bought the shoes, but they realized that they could not say they knew as it would then incriminate them.
