Lieutenant Robelto was a detective on the 1984 Night Stalker task force:
The most interesting thing to me about this passage in light of what we are talking about here is the time PRECEDING the Olympic (July 28 – August 12) that Fuhrman was not working a foot beat in Westwood. You can’t find that reference anywhere else.
Fuhrman was on paid leave from the LAPD for two years before he went back to work in West LA. When I looked up his record for Iago (much of which was missing) I saw no indication that he did anything for the Olympics. I could not pin down the date that he returned to work, but assuming he got back in January he had to have started doing his chart work soon afterwards because all records of his assignment on foot patrol in Westwood through 1984 are continuous. Whatever he was doing with those charts had to have been unofficial or clandestine.
I see three possibilities.
1. His work on those charts was Fuhrman Fiction. He had nothing to do with them
2. He drew the lines as a favor to someone who knew he could draw and exaggerated his role. He did not do the analytical work.
3. He did similar work for anther purpose and used the Olympics as cover.
Knowing Fuhrman I wouldn’t discount any of those possibilities. I hope you can do better than I did. –Jasper
