Rereading Candice Garvey’s testimony in search of why she said she had to go home I discovered the same thing you did. It’s full of impressions that are not actually what she said.
Fuhrman is a master at this sort of thing. So is Marcia Clark. Where Marcia had Fuhrman beaten in the criminal trial was in the power of her position to string together questions in a way that produced false impressions of what the witness testified to.
For instance:
If you go to Candice Garvey’s testimony and search “baby,” you will read what she said about mentioning the baby to O.J. (I grin every time I think of what you said about that) and shortly after that you will read where she said she had to go home. She didn’t say that said she had to go home to feed the baby…. But I sure got that impression. –Jasper
