That was an eye-opener. Don’t know why Philpin called Laura McKinny “Cynthia.” I don’t think it means anything. Just wondering. The thing that bothers me about mistakes like that in articles written by people I don’t know is that it makes me wonder if he got something significant wrong. It doesn’t look as though he did.
THIRTEEN blows to Martha’s head and neck? MULTIPLE stab wounds in her throat? This is new to me. Now, THIS looks like a rage killing. I wonder why Fuhrman said that it was obviously a rage killing as the thirteen blows and multiple stab wounds indicate and then make a point of saying in his book and his movie that she was hit FOUR times and stabbed ONCE?
This is what really has me stumped… Fuhrman said that the big pool of blood by the elm tree indicated that Martha bleed for at least a half hour because her head wounds bled slowly and the blood in her lugs indicated that she was still breathing when the killer stabbed her in the throat. That makes sense to me. However, Philpin says that the size of the blood pool by the elm indicates that she would have bled to death long before a half hour elapsed. He said that all of the wounds inflicted on Martha indicated that there was no break in the attack. That also makes sense to me.
I need a little help here. What do you think? –Jasper
