O.J. said that he came through his compound from Ashford, turned onto Rockingham and drove straight in. He said it in the interrogation and he said the same thing in his civil trial. There is an extremely narrow zone that he could have parked it on Rockingham with the Bronco parked at a very precise angle to confirm that story. That’s where it was.
If O.J. had backed the Bronco up and pulled it forward it would not have been parked at an angle and the odds are overwhelming that it would have been parked a little farther forward or a little farther back. The 2-degree angle at that spot indicates that he parked it in one motion. A variation of only one degree in either direction would have opened the possibility that he was lying. There was no reason to back up and drive forward given such a minor variation from dead parallel pulling around the corner. Who cares about a 2-degree angle?
Pages 67 through 86 of Lange and Vannatter’s Evidence Dismissed give the full text of O.J.’s interrogation. The detectives jump back and forth from one subject to the next to confuse him and make him appear uncertain or inconsistent in his answers. You therefore have to look on different pages to get the flow of events regarding O.J. and the Bronco.
Lange and Vannatter were trying to use the angle of the Bronco to show that they had a legitimate reason to look at it because it was parked suspiciously. They wanted to use it as evidence that he drove from Bundy and parked in a panic. O.J. had no idea why the Bronco was important to them. He clearly hadn’t given it much thought.

It’s parked because when I was hustling at the end of the day to get all my stuff and I was getting my phone and everything off it, I was just, when I pulled, you bring it out of the gate there, it’s like it’s a tight turn.
