This is another item I missed. Now that you bring it up I think that Judge Ito may have spotted it right away. Ito had many reasons for concluding that Vannatter’s explanation for going over the wall showed “a reckless disregard for the truth.” The timing of the call to the criminalist to come to Rockingham looks to me like the clincher. –Jasper
