You are so right about how the cops concoct a story and then follow it. And that fuhrman is a brilliant puppet master. Just read how he describes the making up the story of "the finding of the glove" in his book (Pg.33). He first took Phillips to see the glove "as it was important to get his impressions". He then took Vanatter and Lange in turn down the path, "explaining things as I went". Fuhrman is so used to doing this thing that he doesn't even think of conceiling his attempt to selling his story. It's his normal MO and that of the LAPD, it's OK. And fuhrman sure knows how to light up a room.
Same with the story of how they entered the house. Kaeling and fuhrman stayed behind in Kaelin's room and Vanatter was mulling around on the other side of the swimming pool when Lange and Phillips walked around the path to enter the house. Fuhrman entered the house through the open patio door, (which Arnelle opened when she returned to her room to get dressed).
"Fuhrman says", we walked in through the patio door and that becomes the lead for the rest of the cops, and as they are used to, they follow.
There are so may examples of this kind of mentality in their testimony and in their books. A funny one is how they all took turns pressing the button to the intercom. When my kids were little I knew they were lying and had made a cover up story when they all explain how they did something in concert. They didn't get away with it. I guess these guys are used to getting away with it.
