The female agent who testified falsely only did so in a meeting/hearing without a jury-fortunately and it was the PROSECUTION that reported it. She EXAGGERATED her results in matching a gun to bullets.
I know this because the case was here in Lexington, Ky. in a murder case. The judge (Tom Clark) ruled that it did nothing to affect the outcome of the trial because she was not allowed to testify in that manner in the trial.
She was later indicted, etc. over it but it was a while later after the trial before she was.
It does, however, show that the FBI agents will in fact Exaggerate their findings towards the prosecution even without the prosecution's knowledge and/or co-operation.
THe case involved a college student shooting (sniper style) a college football player who was sitting on a porch while his birthday party was going on. He rode his bike over to an area, shot the kid, and then rode away. It was over his belief that the football player had been responsible for his being blackballed to a fraternity. It turned out that he had not been responsible directly for it. The killer, it turns out, was a kid who had been in trouble for years and years with his parents always bailing his butt out of the sling til the point that he believed he could do anything and get away with it. It was years before he was arrested and that was due to his telling a girlfriend that he had done it. She, at great risk to herself, wore a wire and got him talking about it again. He was out on bail before the trial and repeatedly broke the law with the Dad getting him out of it til he finally got jerked into jail for another crime.
The FBI agent did her thing ---completely on her own. And as I said, the prosecution spoke up and said no, that is not correct.
THis testilying by the FBI has got to STOP>
