Miss Marple,
Looks like the “naturally shed” part of my post as well as the number of hairs was wrong. I looked into this several years ago to test the likelihood that the killer wore the gloves next to his skin vs. the likelihood that he wore latex glove to plant a few incriminating hairs when he could get them. I recalled that there were too few hand hairs (limb hairs) to have been deposited there by natural shedding. I didn’t recall how few. Here, I think, is where my recall wires might have gotten crossed…

MS. CLARK: Okay. And where was it that you found limb hairs, sir?
MR. DEEDRICK: That would have been the Rockingham glove and Ronald Goldman's shirt.
MS. CLARK: And these limb hairs were also the origin of a black person?
MR. DEEDRICK: That's correct.
MS. CLARK: Did you examine hairs collected from a cap found in the Defendant's Bronco?
MR. DEEDRICK: I did.
MS. CLARK: People's 439, your Honor.
MS. CLARK: Now, what kind of hairs did you find collected from this cap, sir?
MR. DEEDRICK: Well, there were two head hairs that appeared to be naturally shed.
The limb hair issue comes up again on the last days of the criminal trial. http://simpson.walraven.org/sep26.html
By now it is clear that the “naturally shed” comment refers only to the head hair in the caps an there were only two limb hairs in the Rockingham glove, ONE from a white person and ONE from a black person.
CLARK: … that is why the Defense has to say that the glove is planted, because if they don't, everything about this glove convicts the Defendant, where it is found, what is found on it, what is found in it, even a black limb hair found inside the glove.

CLARK: We got hair standards from all the officers. No problem, counsel. Let's go look. And we did, and Mark Fuhrman and all the other officers were eliminated from that Caucasian hair on the Rockingham glove…
The defense denied her claim. The trial ended before anyone could check it out. –Jasper
