It is true that in a normal murder it would have been asked or made public. The amount of blood out of the bodies was not made public for a long time as it didn't match the amount at the scene of the crime. We had to dig to find that both bodies had lost all but ten percent of the blood. It is now common knowledge and not just some sort of generality.
