Your point about the culprit being aware of the emulsion number issue is, of course, a possiblity. But it is also a possibility that he or they didn't see that one coming. (Which would explain why the photos are missing!--and why the defense wasn't allowed to conduct any tests--remember Fugisaki saying "that's the nature of impeachment Mr. Baker..."?)
We can't know the answer until we examine the contact prints and check the numbers. This is extremely important in my view.
And yes Charlie, I was referring to the picture of Simpson getting his shoes shined. Jasper decribes the photo accurately---you can't see clearly enough because of the blurred print. J's point that Simpson might be wearing the shoes or type of shoes he wore to the receital is a good one.
