Thanks for explaining about the schools. I had forgotten that even though I knew it at one time. Old age and all that....
At one time, one of the group had an article where it talked about the people who stood around Outside the Mezz talking with Judy and the others and how the kids (Sydney and Justin included) played on the sidewalk. Also quoted a child about that being the last time that she saw Sydney and Justin as they went away after that (the Browns).
I would be surprised if it were Rachel who appeared on tv talking about the ice cream shop, etc. Not that it didn't happen but I would be surprised just because they have kept her and her family deeply under wraps. Now it could have been another child.
The mystery gets deeper when the Browns say that Rachel was with Nicole when she went to the ice cream shop. Nicole was supposed to have had a conversation with a man in a suit at the shop but he was left unidentified to this day--at least to the public. At one point, people wondered if it was Ron but that was early on. I guess it could have been Rachel's father but that isn't the story told in court. The story told is that Rachel went with Nicole and then went back to the condo with her to stay the night with Sydney.
The "puzzle' comes about when the clerk says it was after 9 (the original story by Marsha Clark by the way) and that Nicole only had her two kids with her and only paid for the two kids. The way he told the story, you couldn't even say that another child was hanging around her two kids.
If this is 9 or after, and she is picked up at 915--it is so strange as to be unbelievable. That in the space of a few minutes, the overnight is cancelled.
Even if it were earlier (about 845 is the earliest it could be by anybody's story) this is still too too strange.
It was implied by Nicole talking to the Dad for that time was Rachel getting her things and playing with Sydney.
Another set of questions that could have been asked of Rachel's dad was if anybody was hanging around. Where did they stand? In the street side or on the alley side?
We have always wondered if the plans changed that Nicole was the one that was going out and Rachel's parents didn't want her staying there. Same for if Nicole was going to have company.
Also it is odd to come up with a trip out of town in the short while (845? to 915) and suddenly need RAchel home instead of staying overnight.
We have also wondered if RAchel had a reason to feel uncomfortable and called her parents to come after her.
ALL good questions to ask Rachel's Dad. Originally it was Rachel's MOM who was on the witness list and not the Dad which was another oddity. charlie
