Nancy Drew,

You are very kind. Iago took about a year to organize and two years to write.

I haven’t sold enough copies of Iago to come close to breaking even. I got some great reviews early on, but when I was getting the most hits I was having the most technical trouble. I am almost back up to square one in staring over. .

The biggest thing I hope people will get out of Iago in Brentwood is the related material on the site. That material includes both electronic versions of the book (pages have been removed from the wrong copy so you can expect that to change) and this discussion board, which helps make Iago a living document. It includes opposing pints of view.

I don’t believe in hiding my errors. I believe in highlighting them and correcting them if I can. That little “quirk” of mine gives me an advantage over time. You can misrepresent the truth but the truth cannot misrepresent itself. It has to obey the laws of physics and it cannot bend the rules of extremely low probability five or six times in a row. If your model is fundamentally flawed, any significant error you made in its construction will topple it. If it’s fundamentally sound, the corrections you make will strengthen it. With the reference you can reach from here you can not only detect and disregard the errors for what they are, you can add to our collective pool of knowledge with your own discoveries, insights observations, criticisms and questions.

It’s good to have you aboard. And thanks again for the kind words.

By the way, where did you hear about us? –Jasper
