When I first posted about this, I didn't know the guy was Kobe Bryant's cousin. At first, I had some suspicions about that but quickly dismissed them as this guy was talked to a couple of years ago.
In another article about this on www.newsmax.com from another paper--it told hold this Bryant kid was in SCHOOL with Michael Skekle (sp) as was the first guy who told of knowing about it from Bryant.
So these weren't just some homeboys up there breaking into the closed community. Bryant may have brought them there earlier in the day to visit one of more of the boys who live in that area.
I think this is how this story got known. They were interviewing people who went to school with Michael S. and one guy told of Bryant who had told him this a while back. Bryant did not want to come forward and didn't want to now but Bobby Kennedy, Jr. got into the act and either went to see him and/or called and begged him to.
Even if this is true, they have a long row to hoe as the saying goes. DA's and the victim's families get "invested" in one person or anther being the killer and can't let it go even if they are shown cut and dry evidence to the contrary. I read about that "problem" when reading about the convictions overturned by Sheck and Company. Even with DNA evidence-the families and DA's do not want to give up their "mindset" that perhaps they have carried for 20 years or more.
They don't want to believe that they have invested so much time, money, energy, blood, sweat and tears into the Wrong person for some many years.
