Never gave having "brown" roots a second thought because I knew how the hair color can change. My neice is the one that has the strangest that I have heard of --from coal black to very blond and then darkening again.
A person who has their "identity" as a blond thru their entire childhood finds it hard to give that up and go to another natural hair color.
I would say Nicole was in her middle to late teens when the color started to change. And she helped it stay blond.
