Nope, not even smudges. It was testified that the knife was "wiped" of prints and smudges.
That is the way the fingerprint expert testified to the other things as well such as Ron's borrowed car. Not that he could get no prints or useable prints but that they had be "wiped" of prints.
Jasper mentions that steering wheels, etc. have material that don't take prints well. However, that is not they way it was testified to. Not that they could not get any off the material but that the things had been wiped clean of prints and smudges.
