Without an apartment key and without keys offically documented as being found in the crime scene, you can see where the defense got the idea that someone brought Ron over there and dropped him off--perhaps taking off with the car, the keys and Ron's apartment key as well---and they were to pick him up later or meet him back at his apartment?
I have to tell you that no house or apartment key for a VICTIM when they are believe to have driven over there and left their apartment for the night Should have been a HUGE big red flag.
Anytime a victim is found AWAY from home without their keys is a sign that something is wrong.
And why would Ron carry a set of keys to nowhere--except his parent's house? Unlike a woman who just "might" have them down in her purse, Ron was not carrying a "purse" and would have found a set of 5 keys to nowhere very inconvenient to have.
