Wasn't it established on this board that at the time there was no off-ramp to Dana Point and that made the distance a little longer because they had to drive from an out of the way off ramp. The construction was what added the off ramp. Maybe my memory is not too clear. The speed limit then was 55mph and most people have this rule that 10 miles over is okay. But there is no allowance for exceeding the speed limit. And as Kari said the fine is double in a construction zone and has been for a while. Then, I don't know either.
