I got responses for the Speed Limit from a website that I posted that concerned travel in LA and getting around LA, etc.
I was told that the 55 speed limit --inside and outside of LA on the freeways was 55 mph until the change in 95 and that the 55 mph stayed 55 inside of LA after it and remains so even til today.
So for the Browns to drive the 75 miles in an hour-- go thur the construction areas (which may have had even lower than 55 speed limit), etc. they had to travel from 20 to 25 miles an hour over the speed limit. Not that they couldn't do that but that is what they would have to have done.
To go 75 miles in one hour--you have to average 75 mph or better for the whole time to do it or to drive way way over 75 to make up for any time that you did not.
I am just wondering if someone would drive 20-25 miles over the speed limit (even within LA) for the whole time. Most folks will chance the 10 or so over it but 20 or 25 or even 30 if they tried driving 80 mph back then.
I wonder what Kari and others who drove out there during the 55 mph speed limit think of that. Was that done on any kind of regular basis by people or would folks who did that be really taking a chance?
