Jasper, What an interesting proposition that MF used sex to get ahead in his job. I know he headed up that group (forget the intitials) where it was the men against the women in the police department but he might have done some serious harassment or some serious kissing butt to get ahead. (or sexual manipulation)
What this immediately put me in mind of was his interview with Judge K. Crier when he was discussing Brentwood and when she seemed 'interested", his stories got wilder. Saying that there was blood all over the Rockingham bathroom and that Clark knew it and saw it, etc. And when he started talking like this and had no answer to her question about why wasn't this in his book--she turned cold as ice on him whereas she had been interested and flirty with him.
Also his interview with Judith Regan on Fox--the book interview show--where he started telling that "lots of stuff was done at both crime scenes that people don't know about" (implying others and not himself that did it).
I think what happens with him is that he thinks some woman is interested (and maybe they are) and then he goes into his let me see how much I can convince them of while they are attracted to me mode.
These two woman are highly intelligent and they weren't having any part of him after he started that "talk" but I'd bet there are more than a few who would hang on every word he said.
Something else I thought of at work today. His relationship with D. Gates. Both acted like they had never met on Rivera show and the only way I can describe MF's reaction to being on with Gates is idol worship. I could just imagine myself had I ever gotten within 4 ft of Elvis and got introduced. I would have probably made a total ass of myself---like MF did when introduced to Gates.
I thought MF was going to kneel down and kiss his hand it was so bad.
But what it did show was that MF is not immune to such things and that he can have a serious case of hero worship and that he could very well STRIVE for attention and fame and fortune. And to me it showed that MF would do some serious stuff to get the attention of the brass at LAPD.
