Kari and Miss Marple,
Kari, Fuhrman doesn’t have to discover the killer in the Foster case. He can come off smelling like a rose just by “proving” that the investigation was so badly botched that no one will ever be able to say for certain what happened. As you, Miss Marple, suggested, Ruddy’s book and Moldea’s book will only lend credibility to the “great detective” no matter what he finds. Thanks to Dunne and the success of his first two books and the movie following his third book, Fuhrman is now the only man in America with that unchallenged designation.
He has already given hints that he believes Foster did kill himself. The twist is that he believes someone connected to the Clinton White House moved the body and orchestrated the evidence to hide where and why Foster killed himself. Fuhrman may even know what really happened, which would give him a leg up on casting suspicion in another direction with flexible timelines, questionable witnesses, disappearing evidence and liberal interpretations of the evidence that supports his case.
From everything I can gather so far about the Vincent Foster case it looks like a murder that was poorly staged to look like a suicide, suicide that well staged to look like a murder or a murder that was well staged to look a poorly staged suicide.
The key word is “staged.”
Everything about the Bundy murders from the position of Nicole’s body to the closely cropped constellation of evidence at the foot of Ronald Goldman looked to me from the start to be stage. Only I couldn’t quite put my finger on why I felt that way until I saw the pictures in Fuhrman’s book Murder in Brentwood. Then I KNEW the scene was staged. I knew that it was done by someone with an eye for artistic composition, a keen interest in the movies and a knowledge of Civil War photographer Mathew Brady, who staged his famous picture of the dead Confederate soldier in The Devil’s Din.
Fuhrman saw nothing wrong with the crime scene photos on Bundy. Yet, he finds that Martha Moxley’s body was moved from where she fell – on her left side exactly like Nicole – but there was nothing suspicious about the rare golf club head found in pool of blood nearby. Now, again, with Foster he finds more evidence that the body was moved and the crime scene was staged… Give me a break. – Jasper
