You have no idea how many boxes I had to move to find a deck of Tarot cards. I needed to clean the closet anyhow and now I have to.
First I believe that tiger lilies are yellow with black spots. It is white lilies that have the meanings.
Now symbols are universal. For example the swastica is a sign that is found in ancient south America. The cross has several meaning. Like the swastica it is both the 4 points, east, west, etc and the 4 elements air, earth, water, and fire. Now Fuhrman may not have gotten it from the Masons but if exposed to them, he would have learned to appriciate symbols.
Now there are many different decks of Tarot Cards. Different pictures and different numbers.I doubt that he would have had a teacher, so like most people who do not, he probably got what is called a Rider Deck. It is the most common and least expensive and they can get into some big money. There is a booklet that comes with them and most people use the booklet to learn to use the cards. And the booklet does not have much about the religious aspects but does have some of the symbols.
Now the magician may not be as Fuhrman sees himself. The only forceful thing about the Magician card is as a magician.
Magician card has a dark haired young man in white robe with a red one over it. He has the symbol of eternity (an 8 laying on its side) He is holding something in is right hand lifted up to the sky(could be a scroll or light) His other hand is pointed to the ground. This position makes the connection between earth and heaven.
He is standing in front of a table that has a penticle (coin) a cup, a sword, a staff on it. That is probably a wand in his hand but I am thinking that a staff and wand are the same things.
Above his head it looks like climbing red roses and around his legs and feet are red roses and white lillies. Penticals are like coins with a pentical-5 pointed star- in the center.
Magic is accomplished thru a blending of the will and emotions, but mostly will and is accomplished thru rituals. Magic always calls for a sacrifice. Modern witches may do the sacrifice with fasting or gifts to the poor or that kind of thing. things get sealed in blood from a finger prick.
It pays to have had a room mate who was a male witch even though his other roomate and I where resticted to the other part of the house during the full moon. He did consider himself the magician but other men his age would not have been, it was only the magician part that he related to. Those things on the table are stock and trade for witches.
But the Chariot card would be more likely what he would consider himself. It is the card of vengence, triupmph, etc.. It is a blond man in a suit like you see the charioteers in Rome. It is full of symbols. The Chariot is covered with a dropping cloth like drapes drawn back in mediam blue with stars scattered on it. (Probably symboizes the heavens) He has some kind of stick in his hand, maybe a spear. There are buildings in the background with steep red roofs (these are northern roofs, not egyph) In front of him is wings on top of something that looks like a small shield with a red spinning top. In font are 2 lions like where horses woud be one black with a human face and alion mane of back and white stripes. Onthe other side is a white lion just the reverse of the other, only she has boobs.
The man has like a crown on his head with 8 pointed star in the center and the lions have something in the paws but don't know what.
Also the king of swords is a likly. He has on a blue robe then a red and then a violet. Red hood with crown on top, has big sword. He is sitting in front of a piller that has symbols on it. Ican make out a butterfly with crsesnt moons encolsing it. I see acouple of nakid girls and can't make out the rest.There are clowds and trees in the backgournd and 2 birds way in the distence. Birds are messengers. He represents judgement, and i would think the military and police.
The tower card has two people falling, one dark haired male and blond female. there are several others but I am tired of writing. Come to think of it, I think I may have a book on Tarot symbology and several books on symbols which I will look thru to see what fits. I especially want to know what delphmium means. All flowers, colors have meanings.
Over on smoking gun I gave a web site that gives the movie symbols but it takes work to find them. It is a twin peaks site and I found out that movie is all symbols. Facinating.
