Jean,

We may not learn much from Tarot card symbolism in depth. The only way that can do us any good in terms of how they relate to Fuhrman is if we can prove that he took an interest in the subject that ran that deep and that he used a particular deck. The magician card is the only one that contains all of the symbols for all of the suits in just about any deck you look at. To him the magician may have a shallow meaning of its own. Fuhrman’s only deep interests seem to be in the movies and in using the power of suggestion (largely though powerful symbols) to influence people.

The rest is superficial.

That’s what got him into trouble with the shrinks when he tried to fake his disability. He got enough things right to show them that he had studied the literature but he missed some things that clinical psychologists and psychiatrists look for in physical responses that correspond to the things he said.

Fuhrman may not be a Mason or a member of the Eastern Star. He may know little more about Tarot cards than he got from a friend, the way Lollie did with her brother, or that he saw in the movies. He could have done the same research that Lollie, Rose and I did on the web and took only what mattered to him for his own personal reasons. But Tarot cards are definitely linked to Masonic symbolism, particularly the ones found in the Eastern Star. For Fuhrman to produce a movie that uses the “made up” names Rob and Morris (the creator of the Eastern Star) side by side, in that order (Rob Mathers and then Morris Banks) strongly suggest that he did some research on THAT specific subject.

The number 22 (which popped up all over the place when I was doing The Smoking Gun) also has special Tarot card significance. This is the portion of the deck where each card has a specific meaning all by itself. The meaning that Fuhrman gives to them may not be found anywhere except the inside of his head. --Jasper
