That means Lauren knew Nicole by way of Ron as well as Jeff. Why didn’t she mention Ron and why didn’t Denise mention Jeff?
I have serious doubts about Jeff identifying Nicole’s body.
It’s hard to find anything definitive because everyone involved seemed to skip over the point at which the female victim’s body was positively identified as Nicole’s. Nobody that I can find says who did it. It just sort of evolves from Riske’s run of the Ferrari license plate to get the name of the owner, to him seeing pictures of a blonde woman and the kids on the wall. That didn’t tell him if the woman in the pictures and the one on the ground were the same person because the face of the woman on the ground was covered by her hair (that’s why Fuhrman said that he didn’t know who she was).
From the pictures of Nicole with the kids he could make a reasonable guess that dead woman was the one in the pictures and the car was hers so her name was Nicole Brown Simpson but he didn’t see her face so he couldn’t know for sure. When Fuhrman arrived at 2:10 with Phillips he says in Murder in Brentwood that he couldn’t identify her for the same reason Riske couldn’t; he couldn’t see her face. He finishes his notes around 2:40 when he gets the word that Commander Bushy has relieved him BECAUSE OF THE FEMALE VICTIM’S IDENTITY. How is it that Bushy is now so sure of her identity that he orders Phillips to notify O.J. Simpson of her death?
With Fuhrman on the scene all he had to do was lift Nicole’s hair after the photos of her body were taken. There was no need for anybody else to identify the body and every reason to keep everyone out of the crime scene who didn’t have to be there.
Fuhrman identified the body. Maybe Jeff told Lauren that he did it but he didn’t. --Jasper
