There was nothing Jeff could have told the detective in charge about Nicole and O.J. that Fuhrman hadn’t already told anyone within earshot of him at the bar where he boasted about his affair with Nicole in ’92. Bushey could have gotten his information from any of those people. Besides, Fuhrman was the detective in charge. With Fuhrman on the scene nobody else was necessary to identify Nicole’s body or to let Bushey know about the joint custody arrangement. Fuhrman tells Phillips, Phillips tells Bushey and that’s it. Done deal. No need for a paramedic who MIGHT have known her or a neighbor who MIGHT have been there. Somebody who knew her WAS there. That somebody was Mark Fuhrman.
When you consider the fact that NO ONE was supposed to touch the bodies until the coroner arrived there is no “legal” way that anyone could have identified Nicole until several hours after Bushy knew who the female victim was. Bushey wasn’t there so somebody who was there had to have given broken the law to give him a positive identification. After the bodies were found Fuhrman denied what he said earlier about his affair with Nicole to deflect the charge that he had a motive for planting evidence. He did not deny that he identified the body. He only said enough to suggest that someone else did. I think that’s one of the reasons for the photo of the Mother’s poem.
Fuhrman never does anything for one reason so I am not about to say that was the only reason for the photo. After seeing how much confusion arises from discovering who authored the “Mothers” poem and what she BELIEVED about Jeff it seems to me that creating confusion was one of the reasons for the photo. I would guess that Fuhrman didn’t write the poem (different handwriting than his signature). However, he drew on it and he adopted it with full knowledge that the author would recognize her work and tell what she thought she knew about Jeff if she were identified.
Thus, we have yet another complex of clues that point to Fuhrman as Mr. Compassionate and someone else who knew Nicole well enough to identify the body. –Jasper
