Jasper,
I think that for some reason (that they knew Nicole and/or more) Eng.19 was kept out of the trial. It's probably by the book to call paramedics, but in this case they didn't want them in the trial.
Remember how Riske testified that he lighted his flashlight into the eyes of Ron Goldman and touched his eye ball to confirm that there was no movement, he was expired. Thus no need for paramedics to testify to this fact. Question one is, would a patrol officer actually do that? I don't think he would have that training. The rule book says call paramedics, which he immediately did. Why would Riske then go do the impossible task of lighting his flashlight into Ron's eyes, and touch the eyeball.
It is an impossible task, because Riske testified he did this from the outside of the fence that Ron's body was leaned against, WITH THE BACK TO THE FENCE. Unless Riske has a very very narrow head and no shoulders and managed to push his upper body through the fence, there is no way he could have looked into Ron's eyes.
This is one of Riske's first lies. He probably didn't think much of it, Ron was obviously dead. But it is a lie.
