Vannatter would have logged in just as Lange did because he had a legitimate, time-honored reason to be there. There was no reason for anybody in the lab to hide him. Given his status as a lead detective, his “official” absence would not have given him an alibi. If Lange didn’t do it, it had to be somebody that the people in the lab couldn’t turn away without being rude and couldn’t acknowledge on the record because it was against the official rules.
Neither Lange nor Vannatter had a record of animosity toward O.J., of planting evidence or making the arrest THEN “making up the evidence later.” Fuhrman did. –Jasper
