Where we differ is in the importance of working through the details of the photographic evidence on Rockingham with a correctly scaled and proportioned layout and comparing them to various scenarios. That’s why I made such a big deal about my expertise in scale and proportion. It takes an expert to construct such a layout only from words and photos. Even so, it is extremely difficult. It took me months of hard work (hundreds of iterations) to do it for the book. In the animations you can see that I was still making refinements in the layout from drawing to drawing.
Your logic is flawless, but that can only hurt you if you don’t have the basic information you need to draw your conclusions (see Iago, Chapter 30 – STUDY the pictures of the gate and the surrounding text). Your scenario would work IF Fung’s blood drop markers were even six inches farther to the right or left or if O.J.’s Bronco was not EXACTLY where it was photographed at PRECISELY a 2-degree angle from the curb and no closer than six inches away from it. The ACUTE angle of the turn is critical. The distance from the rear bumper of the Bronco to the corner of the driveway is also critical.
Scores of technical considerations like these are involved in reconstructing the story of the Bronco alone. I made the Parked Cars animation so you won’t have to. All you have to do is look at it. You can stop it wherever you want to and move the cars forward or back frame-by-frame. You can check everything there to the transcripts. You will find no discrepancy between O.J.’s story, Kato’s story or the physical evidence.
Rosa Lopez testified that when O.J. parked the Bronco on Rockingham she always saw it parked the same way. O.J. normally parked the Bronco on Ashford. When he did park it on Rockingham, he drove it through the Ashford gates, around his circular drive and then through the Rockingham gate and around the SHARP corner. There is absolutely no other way the Bronco could have been parked in EXACTLY the way it was found.
Park’s testimony about seeing two parked cars in the driveway only reinforces the fact that he was not paying attention to the cars in or around the estate. He NEVER said that he saw the Bronco. The closet he came to it was when he said the angle was too sharp to turn into the Rockingham gate (that’s when he recalled seeing two cars) and when he mentioned an “obstruction” on his right when he checked for traffic to exit he driveway. He said that a car was parked on his left. He did see two cars – the Bronco and the unidentified car – OUTSIDE of the gate.
It is imperative to distinguish “blood drops on O.J.’s driveway” from the particular ones that Fung marked. These blood drops had all the characteristics of blood shed naturally from a man in motion with a TINY cut on his hand. The geometry of the markers (connect the dots) matches O.J.’s account of his movement between 10:04 and shortly after 11. These markers were photographed at such extreme angles that only an expert could plot them exactly. That could have happened ONLY on purpose to HIDE them. A precise plot gives you a picture of O.J.’s motion to and from the gate better than a video. A video can be faked. –Jasper
