Fuhrman had a consistency problem that he had to cover with Crier. In his book he made it clear that he not only gave Marcia a walk-through but that she asked him to show her what he had seen, what he did and where he found the evidence (Murder in Brentwood/ page 43) before the walk-through. If he saw it, he had to say that she saw it, too. His stock excuse for why Marcia didn't fess up was that she was protecting her buddy Phil Vannatter who he says in his book screwed up in almost every way you can think of.
In Fuhrman's second interview with Diane Sawyer on Primetime Live, he suggest that some unknown police officers cleaned up the evidence that he and Roberts saw not to protect the killer, but to protect Vannatter who somehow missed it.
Fuhrman may have gotten away with his story about the knife box and other evidence in the house but the business about blood all over the bathroom was too much. The police looked hard for blood in the bathroom and the best they could come up with was positive test inside of one of the drains. There was no visible blood to be found and the positive test on the drain was not conclusive. The result could have come from bacteria. It could have been blood but there wasn't enough of it to test for DNA. It didn't matter anyway because of the small cut on O.J.'s finger before he left for LAX. Judge Crier knew that. So did everyone else who followed the case. --Jasper
