Jasper, I don't disagree with you. I was just pointing out that Crier--a lawyer and former judge -let her "legal" mode overcome her "reporter" mode at that moment when she realized that Fuhrman was tampering with the evidence (verbally) and was lying thru his teeth and was exposing a side of him--and perhaps opening up Marcia, the trial, and the judge with some very sticky legal problems.
A true reporter would have gone after it like a dog after a bone to see just how FAR he would go with his lies and with his wild statements. Not her, she shut him down in a heartbeat.
Her mind was flashing LEgal Liability, legal liability---rather than trying to get Fuhrman to talk himself into a box.
One thing that I do disagree with you slightly on. Not all folks know the facts of the case like we do. You might think they would with their position but they don't. And it may be that Crier felt on shaky ground due tot the legal liability of what he was saying and she just wasn't too sure of her facts of what had been said prior to that time. She DID realize though that Fuhrman had never made some of those assertions before--never. and certainly not in the book he had written about the case.
She may not have been sure of exactly what kinds of tests were done. You may recall that Marcia (or one of the other DA's) got caught lying when saying that Fung didn't check the plumbing or take any of the plumbing for testing. Not only did OJ (quietly) say That's a lie---the media had shown video of Fung walking out carrying pieces of the plumbing to the truck on one of the search warrants.
It amazes me that Fuhrman is still given the time of day on these programs after the stories he has told and the lies he has been caught in and how the police in Spokane say that they found about 400 lies and misrepresentations in his book on the serial killer.
