Jasper, Fuhrman said that about the hand gun prior to the info of what kind of gun was used in the last shooting. He knew only of the alleged closeness of the shooter.
But ALL of that has gone to hell in a hand basket since the witness lied about it all. He wasn't even there.
And since I saw that the cops go back there today and get on their knees searching the street and the grass median outside the parking garage, even the story about it being close up was wrong (a lie) as well.
Fuhrman at the time was only going by the alleged closeness of the shooter.
From bits and pieces that I have seen and heard (you have to do that because the cops aren't telling anybody anything) the shootings were WAY far away. I don't know that any hand gun could have been in the 200 to 500 yard range as was talked about early on.
And in many of the cases, it is said they can't even find a "place of concealment' anywhere close to the shooting.
You are correct though--Fuhrman being Fuhrman wins either way.
Yes, we all have had experiences with the charming con man. Or one who thought he was charming anyway.
I recall my worst experience with a car salesperson was at a Ford dealership. That fool thought he could convince me that the $300 rebate was ADDED onto the sticker price and then subtracted from the sticker price and that's how you got a $300 rebate. That is no lie. He also thought he could "play" with the numbers but that time I had taken my Dad with me and he just stood in the doorway saying nothing. I finally told the guy, see that man standing there? He can add, subtract, multiply and divide huge numbers in his head and if you make one more "mistake" I'm gone. I said your mistakes are now way past accidental and if there is another I am gone and on my way to the manager first and then to the Better Business Bureau. He made no more mistakes.
Guys like that (and Fuhrman) come off as being "slick" and "phoney" to me. Vannatter comes in a close second with his hayseed down home act.
